Locate, read and accurately summarize various federal statutory laws.
Assignment Research Tip
To find a statute on LexisNexis, merely enter the citation into the Heading field when searching for federal statutes. Use the Reporter name and section symbol for quick searching, for instance, 18 U.S.C.S. § 6002. Additionally, you may go to the Penrose Law Library (Downtown Public Library) and use the bound volumes of the United States Code Annotated (U.S.C.A.) to complete Assignment # 2.
Deliverables
A typed submission (12-point font, single-spaced text with spaces between each statute) using a word processor such as MS Word with 1 paragraph summarizing each statute in your own words. The writing will be a modified LEGAL MEMORANDUM format.
Activity Details – Perform the following tasks:
Step 1: Find and read the following sections of the law:
a. 18 U.S.C. § 6002
b. 2 U.S.C. § 192
c. 20 U.S.C. § 1681
d. 28 U.S.C, § 1331
e. 28 U.S.C. § 1332
Step 2: Type a formal memorandum header to start your assignment as you did for Assignment #1 (date, professor’s name, paralegal’s name, RE: line).

Step 3: Create five sections, a. through e., one section per statute; use the statue citations as each section header.
Step 4: Write a detailed paragraph summarizing each of the code sections listed above in your own words. Each section/paragraph will vary in length, depending on length and complexity of each statute.
Step 5: Save and submit your assignment.
