Introduction: The Unit 2 Assignment extends your work in Unit 1 regarding academic and career resources. It allows you to consider your career goals, explore career options by visiting the Occupational Outlook Handbook, and identify skills that will help you succeed.

Listen to the career videos from the reading area. Then respond to the checklist items in a paper that has an introduction (what you will address in the paper), then the body of the paper which responds to the checklist items in essay format, and then provide a conclusion (a summary of what you conclude from your investigations into careers).


  • Provide at least three ways the career videos impacted your understanding of your own career goals.
  • Go to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook and identify at least three careers you might be interested in pursuing. Then, consider choosing a career possibility from the “Fastest Growing Occupations” section.
  • Explain at least three skills you currently possess and how they will apply to your chosen career and help you reach your goals. Explain why these skills are important.
  • Describe at least three skills you will need to further develop to reach your goals and explain why these skills will be necessary.
  • Based on your chosen career, describe at least two academic resources and two career resources that you will utilize as you strive to reach your career goals and explain why each resource will help you succeed.
