Part 1-  My name is Matthew Parker.  I live in Leesville, La. (near Ft. Polk military base) I am currently a small business owner of a welding/fabrication business that has been in my family for more than thirty years.  I have a goal of completing my Bachelor’s in OSHA safety and working in either the safety training industry or inspection field. 

Part 2-

An example of matter near me is a pine tree outside my window.  It is a pure substance.  It is primarily a solid mass. 

A physical property of the tree is it’s density.  The matter is tightly packed in order to form the wood fiber or lumber inside. 

A chemical property of the tree could be it’s flammability level.  It burns more easily than some substances.
